Festival of St Cecilia

11:00 am to 11:30 am
Cathedral Music Trust and Help Musicians come together for Festival of Saint Cecilia
Cathedral Music Trust is proud to partner Help Musicians for their annual Festival of Saint Cecilia on Wednesday 18 November at 11.00. The Festival is Help Musician’s annual flagship event and provides a key occasion for music lovers to celebrate the value that music brings to us all, and to mark the contribution that musicians make across the UK.
This year, more than ever, has highlighted the power of music to sustain, uplift and unite us during difficult times. It has also brought home to us hardships endured by musicians, particularly as a result of the current pandemic. The event aims to raise much needed funds for Help Musicians and Cathedral Music Trust.
The 2020 Festival of Saint Cecilia will be broadcast online for the first time in its 74-year history, and features performances by Westminster Cathedral Choir, Gloucester Cathedral Choir and soprano Natalya Romaniw, as well as contributions from John Rutter CBE, pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason, Help Musicians’ Chairman Graham Sheffield CBE and President of Cathedral Music Trust Harry Christophers CBE.
The Festival will be live streamed at 11am on 18 November and will remain online after the event.
