TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

We hope the following information is useful as you make your own travel arrangements for the weekend.

GETTING TO DUBLIN

Ryan Air make regular flights into Dublin airport from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, Luton and Manchester. To get from the airport into the city centre, there are a number of options including Air Coach (www.aircoach.ie) and Dublin Express (www.dublinexpress.ie ).

TRAVELLING TO CORK

For those who wish to continue on to Cork on Monday, the quickest and easiest route is by train from Dublin’s Heuston Station to Cork’s Kent station. Trains depart every hour, on the hour, and take about 2 hours, 40 minutes. Booking can be made in advance via Irish Rail (www.irishrail.ie) Prices, each way, start at about €21. Please make your own booking. St Fin Barre’s stately Cathedral is 25 minutes’ walk from Kent station, or you could use bus numbers 208, 214 or 207.

RETURNING TO THE UK

Please note that there are good regular flights back to UK from Cork to avoid having to travel back to Dublin or you may prefer to explore the south of the country before returning home.

WHERE TO STAY IN DUBLIN AND CORK

There are a number of large hotels near to St Patrick’s and Christ Church e.g., Jurys Inn Christchurch (+353 1454 0000), Radison Blu Royal, Golden Lane (+353 1898 2900), Harding Hotel (+353 1679 6500), Maldron Hotel, Kevin Street (+353 1906 8900) and numerous B&Bs in the area.
