The new Cathedral Music Trust’s logo (as well as the redesigned logos of the Friends of Cathedral Music and Diamond Fund for Choristers) represents the many aspects of cathedrals and music.
While resembling organ pipes, the shape of the logo’s elements also mirrors the nave and side aisles common to many of the UK’s gothic cathedrals. The three groups represent the different ages of those who sing in choirs, and the colour variation in the central group reflects the increasingly varied background of choir members. The logos’ colours create a unified family identity within the Trust.
The logo was designed by Simon Bleasdale, who himself was head chorister at Ashville College in North Yorkshire and sang with The Bradford Choristers in numerous UK cathedral residencies.
