Big Give for Small Sounds

Later this month we're taking part in the Big Give campaign for the first time, raising funds for Small Sounds – a new education programme for very young children and their families. From 19–26 March, all donations will be matched by the Big Give, meaning your generosity will be doubled!

What is Small Sounds?

Through the project, we’re aiming to establish free, weekly cathedral-based music groups in areas of socio-economic deprivation, introducing the joy of singing to over one thousand 0-5 year olds, helping those children take their first steps on a lifelong journey of musical discovery. We will also train music staff to develop their skills and experience in early years practice, so that they are fully equipped to run Small Sounds in their own cathedrals.

Providing we reach our Big Give target, we're hoping to work with Derby, Rochester, Middlesbrough, Chester, Bradford and Newcastle cathedrals in the first year of Small Sounds, with a view to expanding the programme much further in the coming years.

About the Big Give

The Big Give Arts for Impact campaign runs from 19–26 March. We have just one week to raise £5,000 in online donations, with up to £5,000 matched by the Big Give. The matched funding on offer is a unique opportunity for donations to be doubled at no extra cost, meaning that your support for Small Sounds will go twice as far! Please note that only donations made through the Big Give platform will be doubled.
